Clay Makes It Better

Here are the little test characters I've been working on. They are pretty rough but I am trying to get the general idea and feel for the medium and what can be done with it.

Problems I've run into include (but are not limited to):

* Clay that is very soft and practically melts in the hand
* Clay with dyes that bleed
* Humidity effecting the stability of clay
* Building creatures without armatures (more on armatures later)
* Due to softness of clay, shaping, smoothing and refining creatures, is near to imposible
* Lack of proper supplies in the Rocheter area

Anyway, here are the creatures...

* The little crow was the first creature I made and by far the easiest. Notice the low quality in clay and the bleeding dye in the eyes.
* The rabbit's ears are too heavy and constantly fall and get bent out of shape due to humidity.
* The jester's face is made of better clay however, the size and lack of proper tools makes it hard to refine the features.
* The little monster also suffers from cheap clay syndrome and dye bleeding.
